Abstract generation in progress

At the recent China Development High-Level Forum 2026 Annual Meeting, Liu Liehong, Director of the National Data Bureau, revealed that as of March this year, China’s daily Token usage has exceeded 140 trillion, more than 1,000 times the amount at the beginning of 2024. He also announced the official Chinese translation of Token—“Word Element.” On March 25, the National Supercomputing Internet announced the launch of a new round of Word Element (Tokens) giveaway activity, offering a limited-time free quota of up to 30 million tokens per person. What exactly is this suddenly popular term “Word Element”? [Taogu Ba]

In simple terms, “Word Element” is the smallest unit of information that artificial intelligence large models split data into for efficient processing. It can be understood as a character, a word, or a symbol. In the AI era, every character input by users, every paragraph generated by large models, and every image recognized all consume Word Elements. Over the past few months, with the explosive popularity of the “Lobster” AI agent, global Token calls have surged again. Unlike before, this time, China’s AI large models’ Token usage has, for the first time in history, fully surpassed that of the United States. Tokens are not created out of thin air; they are digital assets generated after high-performance GPUs consume大量电能 and perform hundreds of billions of inference calculations. Each generated Token corresponds to a real inference process and also to actual electricity and computing power consumption. By March this year, China’s average daily Token usage exceeded 140 trillion. Zhang Xianghong, member of the Expert Advisory Committee of the National Data Bureau, stated: “An average of over 140 trillion Word Element calls per day is equivalent to 10 quadrillion Chinese words, or the resource volume of 250 Chinese National Libraries.” The growth in Word Element consumption also demands higher electricity resources. Zhang emphasized: “The essence of computing and electricity synergy is to use our country’s advanced green electricity to develop our computing power and AI industries.” Liu Liehong, Director of the National Data Bureau, said at the China Development High-Level Forum 2026 that the next step will be to work with relevant departments to vigorously promote the computing and electricity synergy project, ensuring that more than 80% of new computing facilities at key nodes use green electricity, maximizing the support role of green power. “Computing and electricity synergy” and “green electricity” are once again in the spotlight!

Gileer Digital Technology Co., Ltd. mainly engages in the research, development, production, and sales of lighting products and magnetic components. The company’s magnetic components are widely used in lighting, new energy, communications, industrial control, and electroacoustic devices, establishing stable cooperation with well-known clients such as JINLONG Technology, ABL, and Wistron. The company actively responds to the national “dual carbon” policy, focusing its magnetic component business on new energy segments like photovoltaic inverters, energy storage converters, charging stations, and the new AI computing power power supply sector.

According to Tonghuashun data, Gileer has “computing” (East-West computing), “electricity” (photovoltaic green power, virtual power plants). Can it stand on the “computing and electricity synergy” trend? Let’s see what “computing and electricity synergy” is. CICC Securities pointed out that the core of “computing and electricity synergy” involves two aspects: first, “electricity supporting computing,” which means providing stable, low-cost, zero-carbon power for computing centers through direct green power supply, integrated source-grid-storage, and other means; second, “computing optimizing electricity,” which involves using AI algorithms and big data analysis to forecast fluctuations in renewable energy generation, real-time regulation of computing loads, transforming data centers from mere “power consumers” into “flexible regulation resources” for the power system, participating in grid peak shaving, frequency regulation, and other auxiliary services through virtual power plants. Gileer has the themes of 100% green photovoltaic power and virtual power plants; thus, from a fundamental perspective, Gileer already meets the conditions for “computing and electricity synergy.”

Additionally, through fiber optic connections, Gileer is expected to further strengthen its ties to “computing and electricity synergy.” High-purity quartz material is the core upstream raw material for manufacturing optical fiber preforms, directly supporting the large-scale production of communication and special optical fibers. In the optical fiber industry chain, the purity of quartz material directly determines transmission loss and signal stability. Gileer’s new partner, Fengyang County Finance Bureau, is located in Fengyang County, which has proven reserves of about 10 billion tons of high-quality quartz sand, ranking first nationwide in reserves, grade, and comprehensive utilization value. For Fengyang County, Gileer’s technological advantages will fill key gaps in the photovoltaic industry chain, helping to build a full industrial ecosystem of “quartz sand—photovoltaic glass—inverters—power stations.” Leveraging Gileer’s R&D platform and customer resources can further attract upstream and downstream supporting enterprises, promoting Fengyang’s transformation from a “photovoltaic manufacturing base” to a “smart energy solutions innovation hub.” According to the initial plan, the first phase will build zero-carbon factories, ports, hospitals, and other demonstration projects in Fengyang, integrating distributed generation resources within the county to establish a regional virtual power plant. It is expected to aggregate and regulate over 200 MW of resources, reducing approximately 200,000 tons of CO2 annually. Relevant materials are attached below:
