Foreign Media: Trump Threatens to Bomb Iran's South Pars Gas Field
Why are there contradictions in the claims that AI · Trump was informed about the Israel attack?
According to a report by AFP on March 19, U.S. President Trump posted on his social platform “Truth Social” on the evening of the 18th, threatening Iran. He said that if Iran attacks Qatar’s oil and gas facilities again, the entire South Pars gas field will be destroyed.
Trump stated that Israel launched an attack on the important energy facility South Pars gas field in Iran, but only a relatively small part of it was hit. Trump claimed that the United States was completely unaware of this attack, and Qatar was also not involved or informed about the plan.
Trump accused Iran of not understanding the facts related to the attack on the South Pars gas field and therefore launched an attack on some of Qatar’s liquefied natural gas facilities. He said this action was “completely unjustified” and “unfair.”
Trump also said that unless Iran attacks Qatar again, Israel will not attack the South Pars gas field anymore. He stated that if Qatar’s liquefied natural gas facilities are attacked again, the U.S., regardless of whether it has Israel’s help or approval, will use “unprecedented force from Iran” to completely destroy the entire South Pars gas field.
Trump also mentioned that he does not want to authorize such violence and destruction, as it would have long-term impacts on Iran; but if Qatar’s liquefied natural gas facilities are attacked again, the U.S. will not hesitate to take action.
Earlier reports by U.S. media indicated that Trump was informed in advance of Israel’s attack and expressed support, viewing the attack as a signal to the Iranian government regarding the actual closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
