Irish Police Successfully Crack Drug Dealer's Bitcoin Wallet, Seizing 500 BTC

The Criminal Assets Bureau of the Irish National Police recently announced that it successfully cracked a bitcoin wallet associated with convicted drug trafficker Clifton Collins, seizing 500 bitcoins worth over $35 million. Collins was sentenced to five years in prison in 2017 for marijuana trafficking. Between 2011 and 2012, he acquired 6,000 bitcoins through drug transactions, which he stored across 12 wallets. Unexpectedly, the private keys were printed on a piece of paper that was lost when his landlord was cleaning the property. Earlier today, Collins deposited an equivalent amount of bitcoin into a Coinbase account, totaling $35.44 million. $BTC
