As of March 13, 2026, 10:26 AM, the Battery ETF Southern (159147) briefly surged over 2% during intraday trading, now up 1.45%, hitting seven consecutive days of gains. The intraday turnover rate is 0.93%, with a transaction volume of 14.6253 million yuan. The tracking index, the CSI Battery Theme Index, is strongly up 1.29%.

On the news front, the chief technology officer of a leading overseas new energy company announced that they will begin mass production of a new type of lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery in 2027, which features higher energy density and longer cycle life. This is LG’s first disclosure of plans to launch a significantly upgraded LiFePO4 battery model, aiming to reposition it as a high-value solution for energy storage systems.

In terms of policy, an important report in 2026 emphasized “building a new power system, accelerating smart grid construction, developing new energy storage, and expanding green electricity applications.” This marks the second consecutive year that energy storage has been included in policy documents, indicating strong policy support.

Caitong Securities believes that global power battery shipments will grow rapidly in 2025, with growth expected to slow in 2026. However, demand for energy storage batteries is expected to continue increasing, becoming a key driver of battery demand growth. Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) is the mainstream system for energy storage batteries, and related companies in the LiFePO4 industry chain are expected to benefit fully in the future.

The Battery ETF Southern (159147) closely tracks the CSI Battery Theme Index, which selects listed companies involved in power batteries, energy storage batteries, consumer electronics batteries, and related upstream and downstream industries as index samples to reflect the overall performance of battery-themed listed companies.
