Commonly known as “Lobster,” the AI agent OpenClaw has become popular, raising concerns about security risks. The Privacy Commissioner’s Office stated that these types of high-privilege, multi-system, and multi-source AI agents pose increased risks of personal data leaks if there are vulnerabilities in system design or if related permissions are not strictly controlled.

The Office advises organizations and citizens to grant only the minimum necessary permissions when using OpenClaw and other agent-based AI. Do not casually provide identification documents, bank account details, or passwords, and always use the latest official version.

Chan Mo-po: Could Change the Labor Market and Replace Repetitive Jobs

Financial Secretary Chan Mo-po, during a luncheon speech, said that the emergence of OpenClaw has awakened the world. As a decentralized platform capable of executing tasks independently, it offers convenience similar to having an “electronic employee,” which could bring changes to the labor market by replacing repetitive work.

He pointed out that while using OpenClaw requires attention to cybersecurity and privacy issues, this does not mean the platform is “not good.” Instead, improvements should be made on this basis.
