【Caixin.com】 Data from the National Film Special Fund Office shows that in the 10th week (March 9-15), the nationwide box office revenue was 372 million yuan, a 55% decrease compared to the previous week. The top three films during the Spring Festival period—Flying Past Life 3, The Escort: Wind Rising in the Desert, and Silent Awakening—remain the highest-grossing movies last week, with no new films able to surpass them. Although March saw a surge of imported films, the post-holiday off-peak season still saw Spring Festival films accounting for over 80% of the market share.

Halfway through March, thanks to the continued performance of Spring Festival films, the box office has already reached 1.5 billion yuan this month. If new releases perform steadily, it is expected to surpass the same period last year. In March last year, Nezha: The Devil’s Birth contributed 60% of the total box office, with the month’s total reaching 1.9 billion yuan.
