Forum and Exchange

On March 10, Wang Jixiang, Vice President and Director of the Research Institute of Guotai Junan Futures Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Guotai Junan Futures”), led a delegation to visit the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”). Wu Tong, Deputy Director of the Membership Department (Trade and Logistics Department), and Li Bo, Vice President of the Recycled Metals Branch, received the delegation and held a discussion. Both sides exchanged in-depth views on industry risk management, low-carbon transformation services, talent development, and other topics.

Wang Jixiang introduced that the birth and development of the futures market stem from the intrinsic demand of real enterprises for risk management. Focusing on strategic resources and industrial clusters such as copper and aluminum, Guotai Junan Futures will continue to enhance its professional service capabilities to precisely meet the risk management needs of real enterprises. Currently, with increasing uncertainties such as geopolitical conflicts and fluctuations in commodity prices, the upstream and downstream of the nonferrous metals industry chain are under significant pressure. He expressed hope that through the platform of the Association, they can grasp the future direction of industry development, continuously strengthen their professional support for serving the real economy, and contribute more to the industry’s growth.

Wu Tong welcomed the visit of the Guotai Junan Futures team and provided a detailed introduction to the history and development of the Association, its member service system, organizational functions, and related work in serving industry development, reflecting enterprise demands, promoting industry self-discipline, and improving standards.

Li Bo reviewed the good cooperation foundation between both sides in industry training, joint research, enterprise visits, and other areas. He stated that the Guotai Junan Futures team has demonstrated outstanding professionalism and notable service effectiveness in serving enterprises. Based on this, both sides plan to further deepen cooperation and expand more service scenarios.

In the future, both sides will establish a regular communication mechanism, focusing on traditional nonferrous metal varieties, recycled metals, emerging materials, and other fields. They will deepen cooperation in areas such as research topics, compliance guidelines, financial information, industry-education integration, conference collaboration, and risk management implementation, jointly promoting the futures market to better serve the high-quality development of the nonferrous metals industry and contribute to safeguarding national strategic resource security.

Relevant business leaders of Guotai Junan Futures and personnel from the Recycled Metals Branch participated in the discussion.
