Yesterday I discovered a leak under the sink, and today when I had some free time I checked on the cold water valve issue. I disassembled it, added a sealing washer, and reinstalled it. So far there hasn't been any more leaking over the past half day.

When we renovated the house before, I basically figured out most things myself and hired workers to do them. The plumber was a ripoff—he left some finishing work undone without doing it for me. I installed my pre-filter myself, and I handled all the network cable connections myself.

It seems I've picked up quite a few life skills, which are closely related to my experience working on construction sites moving bricks back then. But none of it is really useful.

Times have changed. It's no longer an era where having multiple skills doesn't hurt. Now you only need to master one skill and be really good at it—learning everything will just mean you're not good at anything.
