MTR Tsuen Wan Line has launched a new signaling system today. MTR states that overall operations are smooth, although some issues requiring adjustment have occurred, such as platform door problems and trains not stopping correctly, requiring drivers to manually operate. However, MTR has increased staffing levels, so there has been little impact on passengers.

MTR Deputy General Manager (Operations and Local Railways) Li Waan-ling said that tomorrow, Monday, is a regular working day. They will continue to deploy staff along the line and have also developed contingency plans, with the old system remaining part of the backup plan. She reminded passengers to check travel information before leaving home, and MTR will closely monitor the situation and make adjustments as needed.

MTR plans to upgrade the signaling system of one urban line each year. Next year, the project will extend to the Island Line, followed by the Kwun Tong Line and Tseung Kwan O Line. The entire urban line signaling upgrade is expected to be completed by 2029.
