Hong Kong Monetary Authority: Foreign exchange fund's overseas assets increased by HK$32.8 billion to HK$3,630.1 billion in February

Hong Kong Monetary Authority announced on March 13 the main analysis figures of the Foreign Exchange Fund as of the end of February 2026. In February, the foreign exchange fund’s offshore assets increased by HKD 32.8 billion to HKD 3,630.1 billion. The monetary base was HKD 2,071.5 billion, including liability certificates, government-issued circulating banknotes and coins, bank system balances, and issued foreign exchange fund notes and bonds. The total claims of the foreign exchange fund on Hong Kong’s private sector amounted to HKD 371.3 billion. Total external liabilities were HKD 72.5 billion.
