ETF Market Review | A-shares Collectively Decline, Agricultural Products Sector Leads Gains, Soybean Meal ETF Rises 3.99%
Gelonghui, March 13 — The three major A-share indices all declined today. By the close, the Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.81%, the Shenzhen Component Index dropped 0.65%, the ChiNext Index decreased 0.22%, and the Beijing 50 Index declined 1.03%. The combined trading volume of the Shanghai and Shenzhen markets and the Beijing Stock Exchange was 24,173 billion yuan, down 433 billion yuan from the previous day. Over 3,800 stocks across the three markets declined.
In terms of sectors and themes, wind power equipment, fertilizers, liquor, coal chemical industry, batteries, banking, and vitamins led the gains; while small metals, power grid equipment, computing power leasing, diversified finance, electricity, cultivated diamonds, liquid-cooled servers, and military equipment sectors saw the biggest declines.
Today, the value and growth style sectors, as well as agricultural products and consumer sectors, performed notably, with related ETFs leading in gains:
Value and Growth Style Sectors: Shenzhen Value ETF (159913) surged 4.23%, Shenzhen Growth ETF (159906) increased 1.05%, and ChiNext Growth ETF (159967) rose 0.94%. Agricultural Products Sector: Soybean Meal ETF (159985) up 3.99%, Energy and Chemical ETF (159981) increased 0.86%, linked to fertilizer and coal chemical sectors. Consumer and Infrastructure Sectors: Liquor ETF (512690) up 1.19%, Food & Beverage ETF (516900) increased 0.72%; Infrastructure ETF (516970) up 1.14%, Infrastructure ETF (516950) increased 0.79%. Oil and Gas Sector: S&P Oil & Gas ETF (513350) rose 0.95%.
Today, military, computing power, and small metals sectors experienced deep corrections, with significant declines in related ETFs: Military and Aerospace Sector: Industrial Mother Machine ETF (159667) down 3.73%, Aerospace ETF (563380) down 3.70%, National Defense ETF (512670) down 3.35%, Military Leading ETF (512710) down 3.32%. Computing Power and Digital Economy Sector: Big Data ETF (515400) down 3.72%, China Software ETF (159256) down 3.69%, Cloud Computing ETF (516510) down 3.15%, Computer ETF (159586) down 3.13%. Small Metals and Overseas Markets Sector: Industrial Nonferrous Metals ETF (560860) down 3.66%, Brazil ETF (159100) down 3.22%.
