Mars Finance News: Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin posted on X, proposing a tool to enhance personal safety and low-cost protection of civil liberties. The tool suggests that everyone should have an easy and “deniable” way to call for help. For example, preset a few secret words that, when heard by a watch, phone, or home device, automatically silently dial 911 and transmit real-time location to the police. This is especially effective for cryptocurrency holders worried about kidnapping or robbery. Vitalik stated that if the environment ensures at least a 20% chance that police will arrive immediately when a robbery occurs, and robbers cannot detect whether an alarm has been triggered, such crimes would become unfeasible due to the high risk. Since this feature requires victims to take proactive action to operate, the risk of government abuse for mass surveillance is relatively low.
