Caixin: After the new national standards for electric bicycles took effect, the market sales pace continued to adjust. Data released by market research firm Aowei Cloud on March 11 shows that in February, domestic sales of electric two-wheelers reached 2.988 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 37.9%.

The decline in February was significantly larger than the previous month. According to Aowei Cloud, in January 2026, domestic sales of electric two-wheelers were 3.457 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 3.6%.

It is worth noting that in January 2025, due to the impact of the Spring Festival holiday, the sales base was already relatively low. Aowei Cloud believes that the January 2026 sales still declined year-on-year, indicating that during the initial transition period after the new national standards were implemented, the market showed signs of demand contraction and a wait-and-see attitude during the transition.
