Iranian Foreign Minister discusses the Iran situation with Guterres in a phone call
People’s Financial News, March 12 — According to reports from Iran, Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian spoke by phone with UN Secretary-General António Guterres on the evening of the 10th to exchange views on the latest developments regarding the US and Israel’s attacks on Iran. Abdollahian emphasized that civilian facilities such as schools, hospitals, residential areas, and historical sites in Iran have been deliberately targeted, openly violating international law and basic humanitarian principles. He stated that Iran’s retaliatory actions against the US and Israel are within the framework of legitimate self-defense, and that protecting the safety of its citizens is an undeniable fundamental responsibility. Guterres said that the attacks by the US and Israel on Iran are clear and undeniable acts of aggression. He stressed the need to adhere to the principles of international law, prevent further escalation of the situation, and contain the spillover of conflict. (CCTV News)
