What is China's plan for the sustainable development of China-Korea relations? Ministry of Foreign Affairs responds

On March 9th, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun hosted a routine press conference. A reporter from Yonhap News Agency asked, after last year, this year through reciprocal visits between the Korean and Chinese leaders, Korea-China relations are continuously developing. What does the Chinese side see as the plan for achieving sustainable development of Korea-China relations? Additionally, to promote the resolution process of the North Korean nuclear issue, what measures will China take? “In November last year and January this year, the leaders of China and Korea successfully conducted reciprocal visits and reached a series of important consensus, providing guidance for deepening the development of the Korea-China strategic partnership. China is willing to work with Korea to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and continuously advance bilateral relations along the right track,” Guo Jiakun emphasized. China’s stance and policies on the North Korean Peninsula issue have always maintained consistency and stability, and China will continue to play a constructive role in maintaining peace and stability on the peninsula and promoting the political resolution of the peninsula issue.
