** 【Caixin.com】** After China implemented a series of export controls on rare earths targeting Japan, Japan has shifted its focus to sourcing heavy rare earths from the largest non-Chinese producer—Lynas Rare Earths (ASX:LYC) in Australia—to ensure stable supply of rare earths in Japan.

On March 10 local time, Lynas announced that it had signed a supply agreement with Japan Australia Rare Earths (JARE), specifying that 75% of Lynas’s heavy rare earth oxide production would be reserved for the Japanese market, with JARE purchasing 50% of that amount and the remaining 25% purchased by other Japanese companies.
