Odaily Planet Daily reports that, according to The New York Times, before the start of the military strikes on Iran, Trump and his advisors downplayed the impact of Iran’s economic warfare through the Strait of Hormuz, believing that oil prices would rise temporarily and then fall back. Now, the severity of this misjudgment has been exposed recently.

After a closed-door briefing with lawmakers on Tuesday, Connecticut Democratic Senator Christopher S. Murphy stated on social media that the government has “no plans” for the Strait of Hormuz and “does not know how to reopen it safely.”

According to the report’s interviews, some officials within the U.S. government feel pessimistic due to the lack of a clear strategy to end the conflict.
