(MENAFN) The United States raised the travel risk for Jordan, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE to Level 3 on Wednesday, advising travelers to reconsider visiting these countries, according to reports.

The updated advisory from the US State Department places Bahrain, Kuwait, Israel, and Qatar at the same risk level, while Egypt remains at Level 2, with travelers urged to “exercise increased caution.”

Meanwhile, the US Embassy in Bahrain announced it had “suspended all routine consular services until further notice,” urging American citizens in the country to leave immediately “if safe to do so.”

The advisory update comes as the US and Israel continue military operations against Iran, launched on Saturday, reportedly killing nearly 800 people, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and senior military officials. Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and Gulf nations hosting US assets, disrupting some energy supply routes.
