The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has reached a settlement with Tron regarding the 2023 lawsuit. Tron’s subsidiary Rainberry Inc. has agreed to pay a $10 million fine and commit to not violating securities laws in the future. The charges against founder Justin Sun, the Tron Foundation, and the BitTorrent Foundation will be dismissed, but final court approval is still pending. This settlement resolves allegations of unregistered sales of TRX and BTT tokens and false trading activities.
