Backpack announced the appointment of Mark Wetjen as President of Backpack US, responsible for leading Backpack's expansion efforts in the United States. Mark Wetjen previously served as a Commissioner and Acting Chair of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), and was the Head of Global Public Policy at the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC). He is also one of the earliest U.S. regulators to advocate for establishing clear regulatory frameworks and market infrastructure for cryptocurrencies.
