Deep Tide TechFlow News, March 5th, reports that Stanford economist Erik Brynjolfsson’s latest research shows a significant correlation between minimum wage increases and the adoption rate of industrial robots. Data indicates that a 10% increase in minimum wage raises the likelihood of manufacturing companies adopting robots by about 8%. This finding aligns with a study published in August 2025, which showed that AI has had a “significant and disproportionate impact” on entry-level white-collar jobs, leading to a 13% relative decline in employment among young workers in AI-exposed industries.

These two studies together depict a labor market being squeezed from both ends: AI eroding white-collar jobs from the top, while automation replaces blue-collar positions from the bottom. Researchers suggest policymakers consider retraining programs and targeted support for small businesses to mitigate potential employment displacement effects.
