12 Years of Coordinated Development in Jing-Jin-Ji: Foreign Trade Import and Export Value Grows by 25.7%

Xinhua News Agency Tianjin, February 26 (Reporter Zhang Yuqi) — February 26 marks the 12th anniversary of the implementation of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development strategy. On the 26th, Tianjin Customs learned that over the past 12 years, the three regions of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei have complemented each other’s advantages and worked together, leading to rapid growth in foreign trade imports and exports. The total import and export value of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region increased from 3.74 trillion yuan in 2014 to 4.7 trillion yuan in 2025, a 25.7% increase.

In 2025, the region’s export value reached 1.45 trillion yuan, a record high, representing a 56.9% increase compared to 2014. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the import and export scale of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region has consistently remained above 4 trillion yuan.

The highlights of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development are prominent. Over the past 12 years, the region has continuously adjusted its product structure and optimized industrial development, with automobile exports growing rapidly—reaching 90.97 billion yuan in 2025, a sixfold increase.

With the rapid development of emerging trade formats, bonded logistics in the region has also grown quickly. In 2014, bonded logistics import and export totaled 295.91 billion yuan, rising to 503.77 billion yuan in 2025, a 70.2% increase from 2014.

The vitality of private enterprises in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region continues to strengthen. Their import and export value increased from 508.49 billion yuan in 2014 to 1.36 trillion yuan in 2025, a significant growth of 167.8%, with their share rising by 15.4 percentage points.

Over the past 12 years, the region’s import and export value to the European Union increased from 425.44 billion yuan to 595.54 billion yuan, and to ASEAN from 243.54 billion yuan to 395.35 billion yuan. Since the proposal of the Belt and Road Initiative, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei has actively expanded its trade partner network. The import and export value with countries involved in the Belt and Road has grown from 2.14 trillion yuan in 2014 to 2.76 trillion yuan in 2025, a 29% increase.
