On March 4th, market news reported that ByteDance’s video generation model Seedance 2.0 has officially announced its commercial pricing. The Daily Economic News reporter verified on the Volcano Ark platform that the official billing standards have been published, adopting a differentiated pricing strategy. The scene-based pricing for video input is 28 yuan per million tokens, while the scene without video input (text or image only) is 46 yuan per million tokens.

From a technical perspective, the core limiting parameters of Seedance 2.0 at this stage have been disclosed. In terms of resolution, the model supports two output specifications: 480P and 720P, with a frame rate of 24fps. Regarding concurrency and task processing, the maximum number of concurrent tasks per account is 10, with a RPM (maximum tasks created per minute) limit of 0.6k. Functionally, the model maintains multimodal input capabilities, supporting text, images, videos, and audio as references.
After the pricing was announced, the Daily Economic News reporter interviewed some market participants about the competitiveness of this price and its commercial potential. As an early participant in Seedance 2.0 internal testing, Chinese mobile game company CMGE previously told the reporter that Seedance 2.0 has achieved a “qualitative leap” in image quality, and its video reference function significantly outperforms other AI tools, with a more competitive price.
However, since the Spring Festival, the queue time for Seedance 2.0 has increased significantly. Even with the premium membership at 499 yuan/month, users often have to wait over 3 hours. CMGE admitted, “For urgent iterative needs of buying volume videos, Seedance 2.0 currently cannot be used as a stable productivity tool. It still has some value for long-term material reserves and creative exploration.”
Regarding the announced pricing, CMGE responded cautiously in an interview. A relevant person said that the company will evaluate the production effects and generation efficiency after Seedance 2.0 is fully launched before making a decision. “The cost calculation for game production is highly dependent on specific project requirements and cannot be simply converted into a fixed cost per minute.” Regarding quantifying usage costs, the person stated it depends on detailed production needs. However, he also mentioned that this pricing still offers a price advantage compared to the Sora series models.
