Visa, Stripe Card Program to Enable ‘Custom Stablecoins for Businesses’ in 100+ Countries

Visa is expanding its stablecoin-linked card program with Bridge to over 100 countries, enabling users to spend stablecoins at Visa-accepting merchants. The initiative aims to integrate stablecoins into global payment systems, enhancing fintech capabilities.

Visa has announced it is expanding its stablecoin-linked card program with Bridge, a stablecoin infrastructure platform owned by Stripe, to more than 100 countries across Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa and the Middle East.

The companies said developers using Bridge have already launched stablecoin-backed Visa cards in 18 countries since 2025, allowing users to spend stablecoin balances at merchants that accept Visa.

Crypto wallets including Phantom and MetaMask have introduced the cards, enabling customers to pay with digital tokens pegged to stable assets.

Visa also said it is piloting stablecoin settlement with Lead Bank, allowing participating issuers to settle card transactions on blockchain networks using stablecoins.

“We believe stablecoins can play a meaningful role in payments,” said Cuy Sheffield, Visa’s head of crypto.

Visa is also evaluating potential support for Bridge-issued assets in future flows. The assessment will focus on how these assets can complement Visa’s global network and introduce a new settlement pathway for partners.

Bridge CEO Zach Abrams said the expansion would help fintechs and businesses integrate stablecoin products with Visa’s global network.

“We’re on a multiyear journey to help businesses own their own financial stack,” said Zach Abrams, CEO and Co-Founder of Bridge.

“This expansion of our work with Visa will enable businesses launching their own custom stablecoins to use them seamlessly within their card programs.”
