【AI+9988】Alibaba Cloud Launches "Lobster Edition" QoderWork — Control Desktop Tasks with Text Commands

Its subsidiary Alibaba Cloud announced that its developed desktop AI Agent QoderWork is now fully available to users, offering both Mac and Windows versions. Users can download and use it directly from the official website.

A desktop agent allows users to input commands in simple natural language, enabling AI to directly control the computer desktop, autonomously plan and execute office tasks such as file organization, data processing, and document generation. All operations are performed locally on the computer, unlike web tools that upload files to the cloud for processing.

Competitors on international platforms include OpenClaw (marketed as Lobster) and Anthropic Claude Cowork. Recently, OpenClaw’s developers joined OpenAI. Although OpenClaw offers high flexibility, it poses safety risks.

One-click commands for sales analysis and automatic report PPT generation

Application scenarios are the most critical. Alibaba Cloud takes sales personnel’s work scenarios as an example to demonstrate the practical application of QoderWork. When sales staff need to analyze large amounts of sales data, they simply enter commands in the chat box like, “Analyze this sales sheet, identify the top five products by sales, regions with declining sales, and generate visual charts and analysis reports.” QoderWork will immediately perform data cleaning, trend calculation, generate multi-dimensional charts, identify anomalies, and output an analysis report and PPT, greatly improving work efficiency.

QoderWork Model Tier Selector Reduces Costs and Ensures Privacy with Sandbox Environment

Alibaba Cloud states that to meet different user needs, a model tier selector has been added, offering Standard and Flagship options. Users can choose models based on their specific requirements, effectively reducing usage costs.

For applications with higher data privacy requirements, QoderWork also pre-sets a sandbox environment that executes user commands in an isolated virtual environment, ensuring data processing security and compliance.

Additionally, the platform has launched a “Skill Plaza,” integrating a variety of mainstream skill plugins. Users can install these with one click according to their actual work needs to further expand functionality.
