US media: Son of Khamenei to be announced as Iran's Supreme Leader on Wednesday

On March 4, according to The New York Times, three Iranian officials familiar with the discussions revealed that Hossein Khamenei’s son, Mojtaba, has become the leading candidate to succeed Iran’s Supreme Leader. The officials stated that an Iranian expert meeting is considering announcing Mojtaba as the successor on Wednesday morning, but some expressed reservations, fearing that this move could make him a target for attacks by the United States and Israel.
