[Caixin] Due to the impact of the US-Israel-Iran conflict, airports in the Middle East and flights to and from the Middle East have been largely suspended.

At 14:00 Beijing time on March 2, Qatar Airways announced that its flights remain suspended due to the closure of Qatari airspace. Further updates will be issued at 14:00 on March 3.

On February 28, Israel and the United States suddenly launched a military attack on Iran, resulting in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei; in retaliation, Iran launched multiple ballistic missile strikes at U.S. military bases in Israel and neighboring Middle Eastern countries including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait.

Several Middle Eastern countries have closed their airspace and extended no-fly zones multiple times. According to flight tracking company Flightradar24, as of 09:30 Beijing time on March 2, Israel, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Syria, and the UAE have fully closed their airspace. Additionally, Saudi Arabia has also restricted parts of its airspace.
