The most outrageous sky-high bride price I've heard of so far

It's said that bride prices are high in Jiangxi, but recently a friend told me about a girl from a rural area in Qinhuangdao whose bride price blew my mind.
Girl's background: Single parent family, living with her father, and has a paralyzed grandfather at home.
Girl is a vocational school student, working in her hometown.
Boy's background: Working in his hometown, earning a few thousand yuan a month. His father seems to be a construction worker from an ordinary family.
They were introduced by a matchmaker. When discussing the bride price, the girl's grandmother initially said 600,000 yuan, then later negotiated with the boy's family for 500,000 yuan. The boy's family refused, and the girl lowered it to 450,000 yuan, but they still couldn't agree, and they broke up.
To add, the bride price isn't taken back, and the dowry is just a few bedsheets...
If this happened in some parts of the South, people would say this bride price is too high, and the matchmaker wouldn't dare to enter the door, fearing someone might even beat up the matchmaker.
