A new round of missile attacks hits southwest Doha, Qatar
On the morning of March 1 local time, Doha, the capital of Qatar, was again hit by a missile attack southwest of the city. Qatar’s air defense system was activated to intercept the incoming threats. The U.S. Al Udeid Air Base, located about 35 kilometers southwest of Doha and approximately 200 kilometers from the Iranian border, hosts around 10,000 U.S. troops. This base is one of the largest U.S. military installations in the Gulf region. On the night of February 28, Qatar’s Ministry of Defense announced that the country was attacked by a total of 65 missiles and 12 drones, with 63 missiles and 11 drones successfully intercepted before reaching their intended targets.
