Continuous explosions occur following airstrikes in the capital of Afghanistan
Afghanistan’s government spokesperson Mujahid posted on social media on March 1, confirming that the capital city, Kabul, was bombed by Pakistan airstrikes on that day, and stating that the situation has been brought under control. At around 5:40 a.m. local time on March 1, Xinhua reporters heard continuous explosions over Kabul. The military exchanges between the two sides lasted for about half an hour. From the night of February 26 to the early morning of February 27, clashes occurred along the border regions of Afghanistan and Pakistan, with the Pakistani military conducting airstrikes on Kabul and multiple locations in Kandahar Province in the south and Paktika Province in the east. Tensions between the two countries rapidly escalated. Pakistani Defense Minister Asif announced on the 27th that Pakistan has launched an “open war” against Afghanistan. (Xinhua)
