Blockchain infrastructure company Alchemy has launched a self-service payment system for autonomous AI agents, enabling them to manage on-chain wallets on the Base network and pay for compute credits using USDC without manual intervention. The system adopts Coinbase's x402 payment standard, allowing agents to automatically top up when credits are low. CEO Nikil Viswanathan stated that this "gives the agent economy a set of exclusive keys." Developers can top up agent accounts with as little as $1, and the system is specifically designed for DeFi agents and portfolio robots.
