Leadership always likes to have obedient subordinates, but these subordinates also need to be sensible and capable.
Ask yourself, if you are the head of a company, would you truly rely on someone who only knows flattery and ass kissing???
In the beginning, maybe yes, because at that stage you don’t yet know this person’s abilities. But once this person is placed in a position where they can’t fully demonstrate their capabilities (or even repeatedly makes mistakes that require you to step in personally to resolve), as a leader, you definitely wouldn’t give such a person any more opportunities. Because as the navigator of the company, you can’t afford repeated personnel misjudgments, so many times, opportunities only come once.
Many people mistakenly believe that someone in an important position within a company can be replaced by anyone else; in reality, this is just foolish arrogance. Many things are not as simple as they seem on the surface. The more important the position, the more factors need to be considered—unexpected situations, emergencies, worst-case scenarios, potential changes… Without enough weight and capability, one cannot bear the heavy responsibilities of that key role. You might think you can do it, but that’s just your naive self-assessment.
