Consensys Extends RPC Infrastructure for MEV Protection as CoW DAO Refocuses
CoW DAO has unveiled a significant shift in its governance structure, transferring operational control of its MEV Blocker RPC tool to Consensys’ Special Mechanisms Group (SMG). This transition marks a pivotal moment in the ongoing evolution of MEV protection mechanisms across decentralized trading ecosystems.
MEV Blocker RPC Hands Over Operations to Consensys SMG
The MEV Blocker RPC infrastructure, which has already protected over 4.5 million users, is now under the stewardship of Consensys’ specialized team. This RPC service has demonstrated its effectiveness by distributing 6,177 ETH in MEV savings to its users, establishing a proven track record in defending against maximal extractable value exploits. SMG’s involvement is expected to enhance the transparency and accessibility of the tool, bringing enterprise-grade infrastructure management to community-focused MEV protection efforts.
Strengthening Protections Through Protocol Evolution
Rather than maintaining the MEV Blocker RPC as its primary focus, CoW DAO is strategically redirecting its efforts toward deepening the capabilities of CoW Swap and CoW Protocol. This decision reflects the organization’s confidence in the sustainability of its RPC tool under Consensys management while allowing the DAO to concentrate on core protocol innovations. The shift enables CoW DAO to build more robust MEV resistance directly into its decentralized trading platform, creating multiple layers of user protection across the ecosystem.
A Coordinated Approach to User-Centric Trading
This arrangement demonstrates how different actors in the DeFi space can collaborate to strengthen infrastructure while maintaining focus on their specialized domains. Consensys brings operational excellence and scalability through its RPC infrastructure expertise, while CoW DAO channels resources into advancing the underlying protocols that power decentralized commerce. The transition underscores the maturation of MEV defense mechanisms from standalone tools to integrated ecosystem solutions.
