【Crypto World】Vitalik recently discussed an interesting phenomenon during a Chinese-language Web3 social discussion. Where does the true competitive advantage of Chinese-speaking developers lie? It’s actually quite simple—providing a great user experience, especially in front-end interaction interfaces. The situation has changed rapidly in recent years. A few years ago, L1 public chains and wallet projects were scarce, and developers were either working on the underlying infrastructure or couldn’t find a direction. Now, it’s different. The underlying infrastructure has become somewhat “overbuilt,” with a variety of protocols and enough tools available. Since the foundation is already laid and with the support of AI technology, we can actually develop more interesting application-layer projects. For example, social protocols—you don’t necessarily have to build your own system from scratch; you can fully leverage existing ones to build your own client. The key is to create a different experience for users rather than reinventing the wheel. This could be the next growth point for Chinese-speaking developers.

To be honest, the underlying layer has already been exhausted, and now it's the front-end's turn, but at least this time we don't have to start from zero. The application layer is indeed a blue ocean, but I'm just worried about another wave of people rushing in.

Basically, it still depends on who can make the experience comfortable. After competing at the underlying layer, now it's the application layer. This logic is actually quite brutal.

Well said. The underlying layer is now overwhelmed, and it's indeed time to shift towards the application layer... But on the other hand, there are very few projects with good UX, most are still just copy-pasting the same approach.

To be honest, developers who are still piling up the development of underlying infrastructure should really reflect on themselves. The market no longer lacks these. The application layer is the blue ocean, and Chinese-speaking developers do have the opportunity to overtake on a curve in UX.

To be honest, hearing these words from V God is quite heart-wrenching. Oversupply at the bottom layer? Indeed, there are so many public chains now that people are numb. Who still cares about another new L1... The real competition should be how to make it easy for ordinary people to use, and this is an area where Chinese-speaking developers truly have a chance.
