Key Economic Data Week Approaches, Market Fluctuations to Watch

This week is considered a critical period. The US stock market is closed on Monday (MLK Memorial Day), and trading volume is expected to be light. The real highlight begins on Wednesday — December Pending Home Sales data will reveal the pulse of the US housing market, and this data will have a significant impact on Federal Reserve policy tendencies.

Thursday is an even more crucial point. The US Q3 GDP data will be released, directly reflecting the current state of economic growth; on the same day, the November PCE inflation data will be published, which is a core indicator for the Fed to monitor inflation. Any fluctuations in inflation expectations could stir risk assets.

By Friday, the January global PMI data will be released, reflecting the health of manufacturing and services worldwide; at the same time, about 10% of S&P 500 component companies will report earnings, setting the tone for market sentiment during this earnings season. Although the trading cycle shortens, the density of data increases significantly, and crypto market participants need to closely monitor these macro indicators' changes.
