Polygon Labs to Acquire Coinme and Sequence, Building the Open Money Stack

Polygon Labs has announced a strategic acquisition of both Coinme and Sequence, aiming to create a vertically integrated platform for compliant stablecoin payments across the United States. This move marks a significant step toward establishing what they're calling the "Open Money Stack"—a unified infrastructure layer designed to enable seamless, regulated stablecoin transactions at a global scale.

By consolidating these three entities, the platform will combine payment processing, wallet technology, and regulatory expertise to address the growing demand for compliant digital currency solutions in mainstream markets.

NGL, Polygon's recent acquisitions are quite aggressive, directly integrating payments, wallets, and compliance... Is it really about to take off?

Polygon is once again working on integration, this time really aiming to master the payment sector... The compliance stablecoin ecosystem is now highly competitive.

Polygon's recent move is decent; coinme and sequence are both taking positions, directly filling the payment chain. But the term "open money stack" sounds a bit... pretentious? If it really aims for compliance and implementation, it might take some more time.

so they're basically betting the farm on compliance now? lol... the irony of building an "open" stack by consolidating everything vertically. that's not decentralization, that's just polygon rebranding their governance attack vector as infrastructure. watch the regulatory arbitrage collapse in real time when they hit the margin of disruption.

This compliance payment trick has been talked about for a while, but the key is whether it can actually be implemented.

Vertical integration sounds good... but no one clearly explains what the collateralization ratio and liquidation threshold are. Stablecoins are compliant, but can the risk control mechanisms keep up?

Polygon's recent acquisitions are quite aggressive, directly bundling payments, wallets, and compliance... But to be honest, actual implementation is the key. Just shouting "Open Money Stack" sounds pretty fancy, but being able to navigate the US regulatory framework is the real strength.

Polygon is once again spending money on acquisitions. Can they finally turn their stablecoin into something profitable this time?
