Honestly, setting up your own node sounds great, but does anyone really maintain it every day... But Umbrel's setup is indeed quite interesting, with over 100 pre-installed apps saving a lot of trouble. Another dream of "breaking away from big corporations," when will it truly become a reality? Self-hosting sounds very free, but the technical barriers are really discouraging. Adding a Bitcoin node to self-hosting—whether it's worth it or not depends on your own calculations. For someone like me working a job, sovereignty cloud simply doesn't leave time for tinkering. Privacy is indeed important, but you need the energy and money to support it. Feels like another ideal that sounds great in theory but is quite impractical in reality. I get Umbrel's approach, but the costs and learning curve are probably too steep.
