We should all keep the phrase "喜物同因" deeply engraved in our minds. The reason someone likes you is the same reason another person dislikes you. In fact, you only have traits; whether these traits are viewed as strengths or weaknesses by others does not depend on you, but on their inner world and what they project onto you. If you are someone who cries easily, some people see you as a gentle and delicate person; but others see you as sentimental, weak, and overly emotional because in their upbringing, expressing vulnerability is not allowed. When you express your true feelings and show your vulnerability, you might face punishment, denial, or even secondary harm. In other words, they have been deprived of the right to cry. So when they see you confidently releasing your vulnerability, they project their fear of being disliked or punished onto you. They need to deny you in order to soothe themselves. Hearing this, you will understand why caring about others' opinions is utterly meaningless, because others' interpretations and judgments of you are just a tiny fraction of who you are, but they reveal everything about themselves.
