Arrest of Suspect Who Stole Miss Mexico's Handbag at Event in Da Lat

➡Miss Mexico lost her belongings while attending the Miss Universe - Miss Cosmos 2025 event in Lam Dong. The identified thief is Nguyen Lam Thai, an actor participating in the event.

Accordingly, in the early morning of December 6, 2025, Ms. Leon Yuriar Angela Michelle (Miss Cosmo Mexico) went to the police to report the theft of her handbag containing many valuable items, including an LV wallet, Chanel glasses, credit cards, 1 camera, medicine, Mexican pesos, US dollars, Vietnamese dong (about 40 million)... and other personal belongings, while attending the event at Lam Vien Square, Da Lat.

Using professional measures, only 13 hours after the investigation began, Xuan Huong Ward Police – Da Lat arrested the suspect who stole Miss Mexico’s belongings, Nguyen Lam Thai (25 years old, residing in Ho Chi Minh City), an actor participating in the event.

In addition, Thai is also a TikToker who regularly attends beauty pageant events and has many connections with organizers.

At the police station, Thai confessed to the theft and returned all the stolen belongings to Miss Mexico.

Upon receiving her belongings, Miss Mexico, Leon Yuriar Angela Michelle, expressed her deep gratitude to the Vietnamese police force. With the enthusiastic support and swift resolution of the case by the police in such a short time, she felt very reassured and highly appreciated the sense of responsibility of the Xuan Huong Ward Police – Da Lat in particular and the Lam Dong Provincial Police in general.

The police are currently continuing their investigation to clarify the suspect’s actions and handle the case in accordance with the law.
