I was taught a lesson today because I said, "You should focus on long-term value, not immediate gains."

But he works overtime every day until 11 PM, has to take care of his child after getting home, and is still paying off car and home loans...

I reflected on this:
If you barely have enough time to sleep each day, where do you find time to study?
Even if he does squeeze in some time to learn, if he doesn’t see any return in six months, he still has to pay rent and buy baby formula.

Long-term value is a joke to him.

From this, you can see that at any time, you need to have a safety net first. You need to not worry about tomorrow’s living expenses.

But in reality, most people don’t even have this basic premise.

If you now have the ability not to worry about your next meal or your future, then you should treasure it even more.
