When it comes to DAO, what most people think of are things like: voting, proposals, Snapshot, and governance tokens. But those who have truly jumped in to participate know that just having governance rules does not mean governance is actually happening; a group of token holders does not equate to a real community consensus being formed.
Many DAOs appear quite democratic on the surface, but in reality, they are just going through the motions; they claim to be decentralized, yet are still firmly held by a small group of people. YGG's gameplay has some unique aspects.
It does not rely on piling up "governance modules" to embellish its decentralized facade. From the very beginning, YGG has directly integrated co-construction into its daily operations — through task systems, SubDAO structures, and the design of player participation pathways. You do not need to wait for a special moment to govern; you are already participating in governance with every daily interaction.
**First Layer Mechanism: Task completion is not just a one-way action, but a consensus collection process.**
YGG's mission design includes a feedback loop: your opinions on the game, suggestions on the task process, and ratings of the interactive experience will all be recorded by the system and serve as reference for the governance team in future adjustments. You are not a "transient visitor who uses it and leaves", but rather a "network node participating in co-construction".
**Layer Two Mechanism: SubDAO is not a regional agent, but an independent local governance unit.**
Each SubDAO can independently initiate activities, adjust task settings, plan content output, and even refuse to engage with certain unsuitable projects based on the actual situation of its community. They do not simply execute upper-level commands but make their own judgments, set rules, and report strategy feedback to the main DAO. This multi-centered consensus network structure allows governance to truly be decentralized.
However, this task feedback session is actually kind of interesting, much better than those voting theaters.
But can SubDAOs really be autonomous? Will it ultimately still be the main DAO that calls the shots?
Daily interactions are governance, which sounds good, but the key is how it will be executed later.
If this system can persist, it would indeed be tough, but unfortunately, most DAOs end up not being able to come up with anything interesting.
Task feedback is recorded as references, so why do I feel that most suggestions are being ignored?
This YGG trap does have something going for it, integrating governance into daily life instead of just putting on a show with empty voting, which feels more pragmatic.
I'm a bit interested in that SubDAO part; can it really make autonomous decisions, or is it just the same old story?
Wait, doesn't this mean that the sense of participation has really increased? I need to take a closer look.
However, the key still lies in execution; a beautiful mechanism doesn't mean the community is really getting things moving.
It feels like it's redefining co-construction, but does that also mean the risks are greater?
Forget it, I'll just observe for now; anyway, all these imaginative ideas will eventually have to be tested in reality.
YGG's approach of integrating governance into daily life is indeed innovative, unlike other projects that resort to Snapshot votes just for show.
By the way, are SubDAOs truly independent, or do they still have to listen to the main DAO in the end?
