The global issuance of ETFs has exploded, with 15 new cryptocurrency ETFs listed in October.
On November 16, KobeissiLetter released a market analysis indicating that the global ETF issuance is experiencing explosive growth, with a 19% year-on-year increase in the number of global ETFs issued in October, reaching a record 137. This brings the total ETF issuance so far this year to 918, which is 25% higher than the previous full-year record of 736 in 2024.
In October, 95 stock ETFs were newly listed, accounting for 69% of the total; 15 cryptocurrency ETFs were newly listed, more than double the number in September. Leveraged stock and structured product ETFs accounted for nearly half of all new funds, totaling 67. At the current rate, the total number of ETF issuances for the entire year of 2025 is expected to exceed 1,100, ushering in a new historical issuance boom. $ETHFI
