Which Crypto Could Make You a Millionaire? Shiba Inu vs TRON
September 25, 2025 — 05:00 EDT By Alex Carchidi
Key Points
We all love these stories of fortunes built from nothing, whether they are true or not. And since the history of markets tends to repeat itself, many dream that the past will perfectly replicate itself, rewarding those who were able to see the signs before everyone else.
Let's examine two popular cryptocurrencies, Shiba Inu and TRON, in light of the dream of becoming a millionaire with a small investment. Both have already allowed some to achieve this - but can they repeat the feat?

Considerable growth would be necessary
The bar to turn someone into a millionaire with these cryptos is higher than it seems.
Once an asset reaches a certain size, achieving a 10 or 50 times increase requires massive demand or structural flows that value the holdings. Concretely, this involves wide and persistent use, with fees returning to holders through specific mechanisms. Without these massive multiplications, turning a small investment into a million is almost impossible.
Today, TRON has a market capitalization of about 32 billion dollars, making the hope for a 50-fold increase extremely difficult without a generational upheaval. Shiba Inu, with its 7.1 billion, offers a slightly more favorable outlook, but remains a very risky bet.
Although it is possible to get rich by holding these currencies, the idea of becoming wealthy quickly is practically illusory. Nevertheless, one of these chains is a better bet than the other for building wealth.
Where is value actually created
From a utility perspective, the advantage of TRON is its efficiency in transferring USDT from Tether.
The issuance of USDT on TRON is the largest among major chains, and there is real demand for fast and low-cost money transfers. TRON regularly records millions of daily active addresses, making it one of the most used public chains.
In other words, many users perform transactions that require fees in TRX, the native token, which generates demand and increases its price. Over the past 12 months, the chain has generated $3.6 billion in fees, proof of substantial demand.
In contrast, Shiba Inu does not possess such income-generating properties. Its main asset is its widely recognized brand as a meme that exploded in 2021. Currently, there is no direct way to monetize this brand for the benefit of holders, but some hope for a new favorable macroeconomic alignment.
TRON, with its fee-generating engine and stablecoin volume, could it offer significant growth beyond Shiba Inu? I am convinced of it, as the global adoption of stablecoins keeps activity high on the chain.
TRON is therefore the most credible candidate for building wealth. However, being credible is not synonymous with a compelling opportunity. Its dubious reputation as a hub for illegal financial activities makes it a risky investment.
For long-term investors, this mix of factors makes the expected return too low compared to the risk. I sincerely believe that there are better opportunities elsewhere.
