I can't help but say that they have finally realized that the crypto revolution is unstoppable!

Fed Plans Crypto Conference Focused on Stablecoins and Tokenization

According to a statement on Wednesday, the Fed will hold a Payment Innovation Conference on October 21. This conference will cover hot topics such as the application of stablecoins, the role of artificial intelligence in the payment sector, and the tokenization of financial products and services.

The central bank stated that the meeting aims to bring together various forces to explore new methods for innovating and strengthening the payment system. Officials will focus on concerns and challenges related to crypto payments and discuss solutions.

"I look forward to discussing the opportunities and challenges brought by new technologies, gathering ideas on how to enhance payment security and efficiency, and hearing from those who are shaping the future of payments," said Fed Governor Christopher Waller in a statement. It sounds nice, but I doubt whether they truly intend to embrace innovation or if they only want to find new regulatory angles.

The agency also stated that it will hold panel discussions around the intersection of decentralized payments and traditional finance. Waller added: "Innovation has always been the norm in the payments sector to meet the evolving needs of consumers and businesses."

Since 2025, under the friendly regulatory environment of President Trump, the Fed's stance on the custody and use of cryptocurrencies has gradually shifted. It's a pity that they once thought of completely stifling us crypto enthusiasts in the cradle!

In April this year, the Fed withdrew guidelines related to banks' cryptocurrency activities, including regulations requiring entities to notify the Fed before engaging in cryptocurrency activities.

The institution also terminated its cryptocurrency regulatory program in August, claiming to have fully understood cryptocurrency management practices and associated risks. I see that it is clear that cryptocurrency technology has become unstoppable, right?

This move follows significant advancements in cryptocurrency regulation, including the passage of the stability-focused "GENIUS Act" in July this year, which is the first official cryptocurrency regulatory framework in the United States.

The chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Paul Atkins, also revealed the "Project Crypto" plan in July, aimed at moving the U.S. financial markets onto the blockchain. The world is changing too fast! It seems that those regulatory bodies that once viewed crypto as a threat are now having to change their stance.
