Your guide to a custom .eth domain

Step 1: Open your crypto wallet

Just enter your Ethereum wallet. Easy.

Step 2: Go to ENS

Visit app.ens.domains. Save it. You will need it later to manage your domains.

Step 3: Search for your domain

Enter the name you want with ".eth" and search.

If someone already has it, you will see who the owner is.

Are you free? Great. You can choose how long you want it. The cost seems to be around 50 dollars in ETH, including rent and gas.

Step 4: How long do you want it?

Use "+" or "-" to adjust. A minimum of one year. You can register it for more if you want to pay it all now.

Watch your balance. You need enough ETH for the entire process.

Step 5: Start the registration

Click the blue button "Request Registration". Your wallet will ask you to confirm. Accept it.

Step 6: It's time to wait

Don't close anything!

First you wait for your transaction to be included in a block. One minute, more or less.

Then you have to wait a little longer. It's like a security measure, it's not entirely clear why. You'll see a green bar moving.

Step 7: Complete the process

When the wait is over, something orange appears indicating that you must click on "Register."

Your wallet will ask for another confirmation. This is the one that actually pays the rent.

The button will change to "TXPENDING". When it's completed... you already have your domain!

Registration completed. It seems unbelievable that it's so easy, right?

Now it's time to set up the ENS records so that your domain points wherever you want. From now on, your friends can send you funds using just your .eth name. No more weird addresses.
