💥Cryptos you can mine from home in 2024: Real options!💥

If you're tired of the roller coaster of investing in cryptos but still want to make the most of this world, setting up your small home mining operation could be your salvation. Forget about Bitcoin - that ship has already sailed for home miners. And for the love of everything sacred, don't even think about falling for those "cloud mining" scams that promise gold and more.

What crypto can I mine without going broke?

The reality is harsh: you need to find coins that do not require equipment worth more than your house. While ASICs took over Bitcoin years ago, some cryptos are still accessible to us, the common mortals.

Dogecoin (DOGE)

Market Cap: 21.8B | Daily Volume: 2.5B+

What started as a meme now has Elon drooling over it. Unlike the greedy Bitcoin, DOGE adds new coins every year, which incentivizes miners.

To mine, you need a wallet and software like CPU miner. Yes, it's possible with your processor, but it's extremely slow. It's better to use AMD or Nvidia graphics cards with cgminer or cudaminer. And trust me, join a pool like MultiPool or you'll be mining until the next century to see results.

Ethereum Classic (ETC)

Market Cap: 4.35B | Daily Volume: 300M

When Ethereum switched to proof of stake, miners loyal to the original cause migrated to ETC. Now you can mine with your desktop computer without spending a fortune on equipment.

Monero (XMR)

Market Cap: 2.5B | Daily Volume: 40M-100M

My personal favorite. This anonymous coin designed its network specifically to resist ASICs. Download the official wallet, install MultiMiner and you're good to go! Even a decent mid-range laptop can mine something.

ZCash (ZEC)

Market Cap: 470M | Daily Volume: 40M-80M

Another privacy-focused one that uses the ASIC-resistant Equihash algorithm. You will need patience for the initial synchronization, but afterwards you will be able to mine with your graphics cards.

Ravencoin (RVN)

Market Cap: 350M | Daily Volume: 50M

A Bitcoin fork that you can mine with a normal GPU thanks to its KAWPOW algorithm. Its goal is to facilitate asset transfer, and it continues to maintain a respectable trading volume.

Bitcoin Gold (BTG)

Market Cap: 785M | Daily Volume: 40M

Another Bitcoin fork that has gone years without updating its roadmap. Still, it continues to have buyers, so you can mine and sell without issues.

How much can I really earn?

Let's be frank: with a normal CPU, you'll earn a pittance that probably won't even cover your electricity bill. To take it seriously, you need powerful GPUs like the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 or 3090, which will cost you between $600 and $2000.

A professional miner told me that with 8 AMD RX580 he generated about $20 daily before electricity. In a bear market, his 13 rigs gave him about $500 monthly. But when the market went up, he reached $17,000!

The biggest problem is the heat and electricity. Each device consumes 1000 watts, basically a heater at full power. And if you live in a place with expensive electricity like Hawaii (43.18 cents per kWh), forget it. Better move to Idaho (7.99 cents) or, even better, to Myanmar.

And let's not forget that crypto prices are volatile. Mining when they are rising is like printing money; when they drop, you will feel like an idiot paying the electricity bill.

But hey, if you have the space, can handle the heat, and your electricity is cheap... it might be worth a try. Just don't mortgage your house to set up a mining farm, okay?
