🚀 Starknet launches BTCFi
At the Token2049 conference in Singapore, the Starknet team made three loud announcements:
1️⃣Staking BTC. Now Bitcoin can be sent to staking on Layer 2 Starknet and earn rewards, while the coins remain under the owner's control. BTC is participating directly in the protection and operation of the network for the first time.
2️⃣Partnerships. The initiative has been joined by WBTC, Lombard, Solv, Threshold Network, LayerZero, Hyperlane, Rhino․Fi, and others. Institutional interest has also been confirmed: the Re7 Capital fund with AUM $1 billion is launching a BTC income fund.
3️⃣100 million STRK for BTCFi. The Starknet Fund launches "BTCFi Season" and allocates 100,000,000 STRK for ecosystem incentives. The goal is to make Starknet the leading platform for BTC loans and yield strategies (tokenized deals, RWA, and more.).
