Scammers posing as artists? Nothing new under the sun...
At this point, we have seen so many "celebrities" scamming their fans that it no longer surprises me. Some steal a few thousand, but this porn star took 1.5 million in less than 48 hours. Let's see how she did it!
It all started in January 2022. Lana Rhoades announced her "CryptoSis" project. According to her, she felt like a superstar after losing 15 kilos and launching an NFT.
The minting has started: 6,069 NFTs at 0.1 ETH (250$), totaling 1.5 million dollars.
He promised gold and moro: land in Sandbox and Decentraland, which would increase the price so that investors could make money... He literally promised profits!
But as expected, it was a scam. And Lana didn't even bother to come up with a good excuse to disappear. She simply said that people were being mean to her on Discord and vanished with the 1.5 million.
No one cared about him. Even when a guy with a 2-year-old son told her he had invested almost everything in his collection, she mocked him saying "your diapers are too expensive."
Lana Rhoades is the perfect example of a despicable human being. She scammed millions and laughed at the investors.
And what consequences has it had? NONE.
Celebrities steal millions and nothing happens at all. The system is rotten to the core and we keep falling into these traps.
