The US Department of State recently released some fascinating visa rejection data. Let’s dive in.

Monaco sits pretty at 0% rejection. Zero! Israel follows at just 3.1%. Argentina? Not bad at 4.8%. Hong Kong and Japan are neck and neck with 6.2% and 5.8%. Mexico’s doing okay too - 7.3%.

India’s rejection rate is 8.5%. Kind of surprising, given their tech connections. Czechia comes in at 7.9%, while Portugal hits 9.4%. South Africa crosses the 10% mark with 11.2%.

The UAE is weirdly low at 1.5%. Singapore hovers near 10%. Spain’s a bit higher - 12.3%. Philippines sits at 14.1%, which seems better than I’d expected.

Germany (11.8%), Denmark (12.5%), Indonesia (13.7%)… the numbers keep climbing. Finland, France, New Zealand, Australia - all hovering between 12-14%.

Qatar’s at 14.5%. Chile jumps to 20.2%. Saudi Arabia’s doing well with just 7.9%.

Brazil (15.3%), Vietnam (16.9%), UK (17.2%)… wait, the UK that high? Interesting. Netherlands, Norway, Sweden - all in the same neighborhood. South Korea hits 18.4%.

Turkey crosses into the 20s with 22.6%. Ireland too - 21.9%.

Sri Lanka and Egypt approach the quarter mark. Thailand’s at 23.5%. Ethiopia and Nigeria hover around 28%. Russia - 29.2%. Not entirely clear why.

Bangladesh crosses 30% with 32.1%. China’s at 25.4%. Pakistan? 33.7%. Colombia sits at 24.7%, while Venezuela jumps to 36.2%.

Ukraine’s rejection rate is steep - 43.5%. Kenya’s similar at 44.8%.

Middle East gets tougher - Syria (46.2%), Iraq (47.9%), Afghanistan (55.6%), Iran (57.1%).

Cuba hits 59.4%. Canada at 56.4%? That’s a shocker!

Rwanda reaches 64.8%. Somalia climbs to 76.2%.

The bottom of the list is brutal. Mauritania - 88.5%. Micronesia tops everyone at a staggering 97.3%.

Overall, about 22.1% of all non-immigrant visa applications get rejected. Student visas? Worse. Their rejection rate sits at 36%.
