The 'jaredfromsubway' MEV Bot Keeps Getting Smarter in 2025
September 27, 2025
That notorious "jaredfromsubway.eth" MEV bot? Still very much alive on Ethereum. Getting craftier too.
First making waves back in 2023, this automated trading system raked in millions through various market manipulation tricks. Now it's evolved. The tactics seem almost elegant in their complexity.
MEV tracking shows something interesting. The bot sandwiches transactions—slipping in before and after other people's trades. Classic move. But there's more to it now. It's kind of surprising how it manipulates liquidity pools themselves.
"This version of jaredfromsubway shows crazy sophistication," said one blockchain security researcher tracking its movements. The bot adds and removes liquidity as part of its strategy. Creates weird patterns. Makes detection tricky.
Its approach? Multiple transactions in a single block. This shifts exchange rates in targeted pools. Money flows in. Other users lose out.
Sandwich attacks across Ethereum? Massive in 2025. Our friend jaredfromsubway plays a big role here. The bot's patterns shift periodically. Someone's behind the scenes tweaking things, it seems.
Want protection? Private RPC endpoints help. Good slippage settings too. Specialized tools exist now.
And yes, that name—"jaredfromsubway"—it's a reference to Jared Fogle, the former Subway spokesperson convicted in 2015 for crimes involving minors. Not entirely clear why the bot creator chose this particular namesake.
